Data Analysis & Activity

The data collection analysis and activity is in the form of a handout (PDF) you can give to your students. But before you do that, do the activity yourself. The solutions are included in the last two pages of the handout, so don't cheat!

The purpose of the activity is to learn about the advantages of stratifying.

Share your thoughts, difficulties, etc. on the discussion board.

Additionally, here is a suggestion for you to do with your students.  The Gettysburg Address activity, designed by Allan Rossman and Beth Chance, illustrates sampling bias and the need for random sampling.
